This historic home is where former President Harry S. Truman spent most of his vacations while in office. The Mel Fisher Maritime Heritage Museum showcases Key West history, and there are a number of exhibits that are unique and very interesting. You can look at actual silver coins recovered from shipwrecks, and examine artifacts from a historic English merchant slave ship, among other activities.

10. Heritage House

Heritage House is a perfect stop on any Key West bicycle tour. This home is a part of the island’s history, and was once owned by the affluent Porter family. There is a museum quality artifact collection, fantastic orchid gardens which are breathtaking when the flowers are blooming, and a winter cottage used by the writer Robert Frost.
